TAMPA, Florida, 31 December 2009 - Solstice Enterprise Software and its employees donated close to $8,000 worth of gifts specifically matching wish lists of young Joshua House children. Donations included gift cards, iPod shuffles, jewelry, toys, and more for 39 children ages 7-17 who come from abusive homes. The Joshua House is part of Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS), one of the oldest and largest statewide private, not-for-profit providers of services to children and families in Florida, serving more than 5000 children and families each year from the Greater Tampa Bay and Tri-County area alone.
Solstice corporate philosophy is to give 10% of profit annually to charitable and deserving organizations and this contribution to the Joshua House was one of many donations given to different organizations in 2009. Solstice donates not only fiscally, but is also organizes several projects annually for community outreach to social programs, helping those in need. Similarly, Solstice employees typically donate personal time and money to like organizations.
“The Joshua House is a wonderful organization that truly impacts the lives of young people who have been dealt a bad hand in life,” says Gavin Packard, CEO and Founder of Solstice Enterprise Software. “I was impressed by the generous response of our employees to the need. Their genuine concern for the children was moving.”
“The Angel Tree at Solstice was a holiday blessing for Joshua House, generously filling all the wishes of our children this Christmas,” commented Angela Lubrano-Pottinger, Development Specialist at the Joshua House. “More than ever, we realize impact of the tough economy has had on many organizations and companies causing them to cut back on their charitable giving this season, and we are incredibly thankful for the thoughtful and unselfish gesture. On behalf of all the staff and more importantly, the children at Joshua House, thank you for opening your hearts and supporting our mission of ‘Embracing children and inspiring their lives!’”.
